Here are some new resources, articles and an upcoming event.

NEWS FROM AWARE

AWARE Colorado’s “Water Protection Toolkit for Local Officials” is included in a new CD of resources that helps local officials, along with planning and environmental professionals, protect water quality.

The CD, “Balancing Water Quality and Smart Growth Goals Toolkit,” was developed by the International City/County Management Assoc.  It includes a webcast, presentations, fact sheets, publications, case studies, Web links and other resources.

AWARE Colorado program director Cynthia Peterson recently spoke at the national Nonpoint Education for Municipal Officials conference about AWARE's new community-based social marketing approach.  She told participants how the approach builds on AWARE's ongoing information and education efforts to achieve actions that lead to the adoption of low impact development and other water protective land use strategies.
